RCO is lead by local professional musician and music teacher Ian Riley in a relaxed, informal and friendly environment.

Our members include children and adults with an age range of over 70 years!  Some are learning to play, some have dusted off an old instrument from the attic and others are very able musicians keen to pass on their skills. Our repertoire is mixed including classical, film themes, musicals, pop and rock scores, folk and jazz (see Repertoire ).

Apart from having a great deal of fun playing as an ensemble we enjoy taking part in local community events such as fêtes, charity concerts and festivals:

Maidwell Village Fete

Farthingstone Village Christmas Carols

Roade School Fete

Rothersthorpe School Anniversary Concert

Quinton & Preston Capes Teas on the Green

British Legion Fetes

AIME charity concert

Roade & Quinton Pensioners Club Concerts

Remembrance Day Service

Castlethorpe Fete

Stoke Bruerne Tunnel Bicentennial Celebration

Wootton Fete

Christmas Concerts

Ashton Church Celebration

We have received great support on BBC Radio Northampton and hope that through local media and our website we will be able to reach out further into the county and attract more musicians and discover more venues for us to perform.

Members receive a warm welcome, so come along to a Tuesday night rehearsal at Roade Primary School between 6.30 and 8.00pm (see Calendar ). If you know of someone that may be interested please pass on our details.

If playing isnít your thing but you enjoy listening to good live music in a friendly atmosphere please come along to any of our local concerts where we would love to see you.
